WE STILL HAVE TODAY a poem

Here were the days, when we fought with the Spirit’s might

When God’s trumpets called with Christ’s bright light

This was our call and prayerful action we did ignite

When the shepherds would teach and God’s Spirit would arise

Now it’s in our hands and fire is still in the skies,

With the Spirit’s wind at our backs and His truth in our hearts

Here were the days, when we would wrestle with evil, talk to Christ

and speak the sword of the Spirit into the many Antichrist’s

Now we build walls around the Way, where the Spirit used to flow,

Trading, the spoken truth for silence as we go

I remember the Bible tales, in the scriptures’ bright light

How faith could break chains and Godly action would ignite

No sin, no rage, just the active power of prayerful insight,

As we spoke Christ’s Truth to be His salt and light

The Father said, “Where our souls go is where we stand in His light,

Against the darkest night”

Those were the days, when we knew our might

To rise as one with the Holy Spirit’s insight

God, strengthen our courage, diminish our fear, not for our glory,

But to see the Body of Christ stand, boldly telling His story

Today is the day, because tomorrow is never today,

To choose Godly action by living His way

Today must be the day, when God’s people arise, standing for His Way

Thanking God, ‘We Still Have Today’
