Righteousness is God’s trumpet call,
A holy decree raised above life’s squalls;
Walking in Christ’s footsteps, calm and standing tall,
Through uncertain roads, yet answers the calls.
It speaks when silence shelters wrong,
Listens when another heart is forlorn;
Its strength is gentle, bold, and strong,
Like roots concealed below the ground.
It does not seek the praise of mankind,
Nor bargain virtue for reward;
It chooses what is right, Godly, and then
Christ conscience guides us to be wisemen.
When storms of anger shake the land,
And fear persuades many hearts to bend,
Righteousness extends a brave hand,
And keeps its promise to stand to the end.
It lives in God’s truth, in His spirit too,
For justice without sacrifice is not renewed;
His light creates what faith, hope, and love knew,
More treasured than gold and virtue
And through life’s path that may fall and rise,
Through the valley of the shadow of death’s height,
I will fear no evil on my righteous walk with steady insight,
Trusting the worth of what Christ sees as right, Abiding in righteousness to eternal life.
